In the Field

Condie Genetics is built on four generations of agricultural expertise, extending the legacy of Condie Seed and RoLo Farms. With over 25 years in pedigreed seed production, processing, and retail, we understand the challenges and opportunities that seed growers and farmers face every day. That’s why we’ve created Condie Genetics—to bring top-performing seed varieties to market with real-world insight and practical support.

We aren’t just another licensor; we are farmers, seed growers, and marketers who live and work in production agriculture. Our approach is hands-on, from selecting genetics with strong commercial potential to supporting seed growers with variety management and agronomic research. Currently, we are preparing to launch a large green and small green lentil in 2026, backed by years of field testing and grower-focused insights.

What Sets Us Apart

Network

Condie Genetics is focused on the development of a network of expert pedigreed growers and retailers. This network of experts are the best representation of our industry and the products we license. We aim to support their businesses and relationships with their farm customers. Condie Genetics provides varieties, education, industry insight and marketing support

Integrated

We are farmers, seed growers, processors, retailers and marketers. Condie Genetics is vertically integrated in the Canadian seed industry. Ownership of farm and processing assets allows us to asses and control risks in production. We leverage our experience and connection in agriculture to align our messaging to all stakeholders from farmers to breeders.

Research

Our research begins where it matters most: on the farm. Every plot, every trial, every data point is designed to answer the questions farmers ask every season. Which variety performs best under stress? What management practices actually move the yield bar? By focusing on variety-specific responses and practical solutions, we turn research into results. The aim is simple but powerful: help producers face today’s challenges head-on and leave the field stronger tomorrow.

Values

For 25 years, we’ve shared the same fields, faced the same seasons, and celebrated the same wins as our customers. That connection to the land is what defines us. Farming isn’t easy, but it is rewarding, built on resilience, persistence, and the drive to keep improving. As farmers ourselves, we understand the responsibility of making decisions that shape both today’s crop and tomorrow’s opportunity. It’s why we approach every partnership with respect, optimism, and a deep belief in what producers can achieve.

What is a VUA?

This short explainer breaks down the Variety Use Agreement (VUA) system in Canada — what it is, how it works with certified and farm-saved seed, and why a small per-variety fee helps bring better genetics to market.

Condie Grow

Every variety in our portfolio goes through rigorous testing at our Condie Grow site, where we analyze real-world farm practices such as seeding rates and metribuzin tolerance. This research helps seed growers and their customers make informed decisions, building confidence in the varieties we bring to market.
